Business Sweden is jointly owned by the Swedish state and the Swedish business sector with a mandate and a mission to help international companies gain access to the Swedish market and help domestic ones utilize it as a platform for expansion. Clients range from start-ups via small- and medium sized businesses to multinational enterprises – with tailor-made services catering to all these segments.

Business Sweden plays a central role in the Autotech program as its main organizer. Partnering with Vinnova, Drive Sweden and Future Mobility, Business Sweden leads the initiative to facilitate collaboration and innovation within the Swedish - US Autotech industry.

Vinnova, the Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems, is tasked with providing sustainable growth by advancing Swedish innovation systems across various sectors including technology, transportation, communications, and workplace environments. They achieve this by providing funding for research projects that address specific needs and promote innovation-driven initiatives.

Vinnova is a government agency under the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise. As the national contact authority for the EU framework programme for research and innovation, Vinnova is recognized as the Swedish Government's expert authority in innovation policy. With approximately 240 employees, their head office is in Stockholm, with affiliates in Brussels, Silicon Valley, and Tel Aviv. Vinnova identifies areas where their efforts can drive societal impact and collaborations to address important challenges. Their support enables companies and organizations to experiment and test new ideas, investing approximately SEK 3.5 billion annually in research and innovation. Vinnova is highly involved in the development of new technologies in the automotive sector by funding several R&D projects, e.g., development of radar technology and vehicle cyber security.

As a partner of the 2024 Sweden-US Autotech Program, Vinnova plays a role as one of the key contributors to the funding of the program.

Drive Sweden is a government initiative for more sustainable transportation systems. By financing innovations, Drive Sweden contributes to making new solutions in shared, connected and automated mobility not only technically, commercially, and legally feasible but also creates benefits for society, individuals, and businesses. The program has been in operation since 2015 and is financed by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency, and Formas. Partners confirm that the broad collaboration in project and program activities leads to a broadened perspective, rapid knowledge development, and more market-adapted solutions.

Future Mobility, hosted by Lindholmen Science Park, plays an important role in embracing collaboration and innovation within the sustainable mobility sector. With its headquarters in Gothenburg, a hub for the automotive industry, and offices across Sweden, Future Mobility is well-positioned to support initiatives across the country. Additionally, its presence in California allows it to tap into the innovative environment of the state and leverage the Nordic Network based there.

The organization offers comprehensive support to actors in Sweden interested in advancing collaborations with the US. This includes providing inspiration, knowledge, and matchmaking services to facilitate the formation of new bilateral collaborations. Future Mobility's expertise extends to exploring opportunities beyond California, engaging in ongoing exchanges with various locations to broaden the scope of potential collaborations. Moreover, they guide actors towards potential funding sources, ensuring that initiatives within sustainable mobility receive the necessary support for success.

They offer inspiration, matchmaking, and guidance, helping facilitate collaborations and navigate the automotive technology landscape together with Business Sweden and its partners.
